Located on a gentle rise overlooking the small rural township of Maraekakaho, it is protected from the cool southerly winds and captures the warmth of the Hawke’s Bay sun.
Centrally located on the eastern seaboard of the North Island, it’s easy to get to Hawke’s Bay.
Many travel is by car and this gives you the full flexibility for exploring this fascinating and abundant region. This is particularly so for the guest who wishes to keenly explore the regions many wineries and gourmet food artisans.
From the North, the easy drive on the Napier Taupo highway enters via the beautiful Esk Valley, with its vineyards and hill top views to the Pacific Ocean. For dramatic scenery, an increasingly popular option is to cut across from Taihape using the Gentle Annie Road through the Kaweka Ranges.
From the South, your choice is to drive on State Highway 50 through the charming Central Hawke’s Bay countryside or stay on the main route of State Highway 2 via Waipukurau and Waipawa.
The Manse is centrally located in the heart of Hawke’s Bay wine country, being just 25 minutes from Napier and 15 minutes from Hastings or Havelock North.
Air New Zealand operates a regular flight service from North and South Island centres to Hawke’s Bay Airport situated in Napier. It’s approximately a 1 hour flight from Auckland or Wellington.
There’s also a small local airfield at Bridge Pa, just 10 minutes from The Manse, accommodating chartered fixed wing.
The Manse has helicopter landing facilities.
