Cuisine continues to define the luxury of your hospitality experience at The Manse. The tradition of generous and fine hospitality is deeply embedded within The Manse philosophy and the quality of this bears testament to our commitment. Owner Gary is not only a qualified golf pro, he has many years of experience as a chef in high quality restaurants. During your stay with us he will be your own personal chef and he will cater to your tastes and dreams.
Most of our ingredients come from our very own farm, or if we can’t grow it, we source it locally. Our special breeding programme ensures only the best tasting organic meat. Eggs are collected daily from our ‘girls’ and most vegetables will be picked from our own garden, moments before being used. The Manse has its own spring water.
Dinner and Breakfast are served on china from Coquet Limoges with crystal and silver from Christofle with fine Italian linen.
Breakfast at The Manse is a feast of home-made brioche, bread, granola, jams, compotes and fruits. Most fruits, when in season, are from The Manse’s own orchard. Gary will make you eggs the way you like them, with all the trimmings, or you may prefer to try his delicious pancakes.
Enjoy your breakfast inside or out, weather permitting, at a time that suits you.
By appointment only.
We would love for you to extend your experience of pure luxury and enjoy some of the fine dining we can offer you. There is no formal menu, so almost anything goes. Gary will discuss your preferences and any dietary requirements. He is sure to come up with something special and memorable.
Gary is happy to involve you in the kitchen and give you a cooking lesson or demonstration. If you prefer, you can prepare your own dinner together with him (and steal some of his tricks). We like to spoil you while you are staying with us, you choose your own level of engagement.
The Manse has a variety al fresco dining options or you can dine inside.
Wine, Whisky and Cigars
The Manse has a cellar with a fantastic hand-picked selection of New Zealand, Australian, French, Italian and Spanish wines. Most New Zealand wines are from Hawke’s Bay. In fact some of the wine in our collection comes from vineyards that can be seen from The Manse.
Cigars and whisky are part of Gary’s many delights in life, so it is no surprise that The Manse has a well-stocked bar with over 50 single malt whiskies and a large selection of Havana cigars.
